Amazon Does Not Only Ban Sellers – They Suspend Buyer Accounts Too

Not long ago, a man named Dan Welch could suddenly no longer use Amazon. Even when he sent back fifty out of four hundred items he bought throughout the last couple of years.

This is because he had been banned from the website. Dan is known to many for his addiction to Amazon and his computer programming. The Guardian newspaper stated that Amazon had informed Dan that anything that was still sitting in his account with them could no longer be accessed. This was because they could not be used anywhere else and they were not able to transfer those things back to him. Dan told The Guardian that all of the returns he had made were honest. He founds that many of the items he had received were either faulty or damaged in some way. Some of them would not even work according to their packaging. Nelson said that Amazon had deleted his account straight away. This meant that he was unable to keep on making purchases through them. Dan felt that Amazon did not provide him with a ‘suitable reason’ why his account had been deleted.

“Whilst Dan has full respect for Amazon wanting to protect their company and website, he felt that the deletion of his account was unreasonable.”

Nelson continued telling The Guardian: “I have always been a loyal customer to Amazon. I have been with them since 1998. Whilst I can respect that they want protection of their company, I truly believe this outcome is unreasonable. Whilst they may have thought I was supposedly hacking their program, I assure you that I certainly wasn’t. Now Amazon have the right to work with whoever they want. But do they really have the right to keep all of the items I have bought, along with amount that is left on the gift cards? Especially when the gift cards have been paid for by someone else?

During July 2015, a lady named Katy Kilmarton said that her account with Amazon had recently been deleted. She too had been a customer with them. She even sent back 60 of the 100 goods that she had brought. When her account deleted, Katy could also no longer access a gift card. This was worth 190 pounds which is the equivalent to 315 dollars. Kilmarton also had no access to what was left on her Prime membership. She told me that what was left on her gift card was a refund. This was from another item she had bought that Amazon returned to her. They had refunded the gift card rather than the credit card she had been using with them.

Amazon’s policies on its websites informs its users: Those who make purchases through us are welcome to send back items that have not been opened or that are new. If customers do this, we will be happy to provide a refund. However, this refund may only be obtained within 20 days of when the item was sent to them. Amazon continues to inform users: We are willing to pay for the cost of shipping of items that are being sent back to us. However, please understand that this can only be done if the goods are faulty.
Where Do Digital and Kindle Items Go?

If a customer is deleted from Amazon, they can still access digital and Kindle items. However, Amazon do like to make things hard for people. Apparently, users can no longer get in touch with customer service.

Amazon states: “Banned users are not to reach us via customer services again. They will not be able to help you at all”. Sure, you can still view your digital and kindle items, but if you experience difficulty within the library, you cannot turn to Amazon for assistance. This is because your account has been deleted.

When an account has been deleted, users cannot use any Prime streaming services. If a user has paid for a subscription, this can no longer be used. LoveFilm, Comixology, and Audible will not be able to be used much. Items that have been downloaded may be kept. But remember that you cannot download anymore.

To prevent accounts from being deleted, it is recommended that customers keep all return rates that are less than 15 per cent of the total purchases they have made.
It is not hard to create a new account with Amazon.

Many will choose to use a relatives account instead. However, keep in mind that once an account has been deleted, it will not have been downloaded elsewhere.
